Velocity Projects is a full-service Project Management, Design, and Construction team. We will work with you one-on-one to deliver your dream home or commercial build.
Velocity Projects was created by the merging of two well-established, reputable local custom builders: DSS Construction (Duncan) owned by Dan Sauve and Velocity Contracting (Victoria) owned by Josh Zabder. Both Dan and Josh have over two decades of experience in residential and commercial construction. They bonded over their love for completing technically and logistically challenging projects, and their shared belief in putting honesty, integrity, and quality first.
Behind the scenes, Velocity has a full administrative, design, and project management team, as well as a highly skilled crew of carpenters on the ground. Our staff is hand-selected for their skill and professionalism. We always strive to impress with the quality of our work and the transparency of our processes.
However, delivering perfection takes more than an outstanding in-house team. Working locally for over two decades has allowed us to build strong relationships with Vancouver Island’s most reputable sub-trades and world class suppliers. The collaboration of our network gives us the competitive advantage to handle complex and dynamic projects that others can’t. If you can dream it, we can build it.
Velocity Projects has offices in Langford and Duncan and serves the Greater Victoria Area, Sidney, Cowichan Valley, Duncan, Nanaimo, The Gulf Islands, and remote locations.

OUR BUILDING PROCESS
Taking the time to plan and execute each stage is key to an efficient and top quality build. We will outline every step we take to complete your project, providing you with complete transparency and allowing you to have as much or as little involvement as you like.
Step 1
IntroductionWe begin each project with an introduction, where we meet with you one on one to discuss your ideas, learn about your lifestyle and your project goals, review your budget, and go over any questions you may have. We want each relationship to begin with transparency and mutual understanding .
Step 2
PlanningDuring the planning stage we take an in depth review of the scope of your project, create an estimate to fit your budget, assemble a team of subcontractors and suppliers hand selected to suit you project goals, and complete your contract. We then begin working with our team and subcontractors to review the architectural design and structural drawings, liaison with engineers, submit for permits, discuss with you all custom selections, and create a schedule.
Step 3
BuildingThe building process consists of ordering materials, scheduling employees and subcontractors, guiding our skilled carpenters, and handling any changes or challenges in the scope of work. Our Project Managers and in-office team will oversee the administrative side of your build, while our Site Foreman will be in charge of managing daily tasks, quality control, and communicating with Project Managers regarding any budget or schedule updates.
Step 4
CompletionOnce your project is complete, we will take you on a walk through to discuss any final thoughts or updates and to carry out any changes needed. Inspections are then completed, followed by a detailed site clean. We will obtain an occupancy permit and provide you with a complete digital manual and product warranties for your home, as well as a Travelers New Home Warranty.
